My Newly Acquired Analog Camera
This past weekend, Ricci, my husband, noticed an ad from a photographer hosting a garage sale in my neighborhood. Among the equipment listed was a picture of what looked like a Rolleiflex, so he set for us to go first thing in the morning.

Pursuing this quest was a bit out of character for me. Though I enjoy taking photos with either my fancy digital camera or phone, I am not a photographer. I am interested in the art form and even participated in some leisure classes but I do not really feel like taking the time to learn and understand all the technical stuff necessary to create great shots. I did not even know what a Rolleiflex was until a few months ago when I attended a Vivian Maier retrospective and discovered this sneaky little camera that could produce delightful candid shots: I was definitely intrigued!
Ricci, who is a proper amateur photographer and 35 mm enthusiast, decided this was a great opportunity to convert me to film photography. We were among the first onsite and quickly spotted the coveted item. So here I am now, the proud owner of a Rolleicord that was born between 1958 and 1961, according to its serial number.
As I am embarking on this adventure in the world of analog photography, I thought it might be fun to document my journey and share my experience through this blog.
